Well, the holidays are coming up, and lots of people are eyeing the lovelies in our cases and asking the perennial question …”do you do layaway?” And the answer is, yes.
In order to insure that the special person on your list finds something truly fabulous in the box, we offer the simplest layaway policy we could think of. It works like this-
1) Once you find “the” piece, you put a deposit down on it. We prefer 33%, but we can sometimes be flexible if needed.
2) Our terms could not be easier. We do not charge any interest or extra layaway fees. You simply make payments on your item at your convenience. You can come into the shop and make payments, or authorize a weekly or monthly credit card payment, or you can send checks in the mail, whatever works for you best. We do ask that the item be paid in full within about 3 months.
3) When the item is paid for in full, you get to take it home. Ring purchases include one complimentary sizing, and items over $1000 include a complimentary appraisal for your insurance company… just request one!
We hear that our layaway policy has helped many folks stay on budget while still getting maximum wow factor out of the holiday, and the time to get started is now. Come visit
Here at Maloy’s, we love the sparkle. We love the craftsmanship. We love the design, the history, the romance. What we do not love so much is the paperwork and the complex math.
To that end, we have a really simple layaway policy. Once you discover your perfect ring, put a deposit down on it. We prefer one third of the total, but can often be flexible if need be. Then all we ask is that you pay off the ring, at your own pace, within 3 months (we can sometimes be flexible with that too). No interest (less math) no fees, no reams of paperwork. Once the ring is paid for in full, you get to take it home. Simple.
As with all our rings, layaway rings include complimentary sizing and a full appraisal for your insurance. We try to make it easy to get just the right ring on your finger.

THE STORY – R.Z. Loved a ring. She came in months ago, to get a necklace repaired, spotted the Art Deco diamond ring in our case, and it was love at first sight. R. mentioned it to a friend, who wanted to see it too, so they came in together “to visit”. The friend ooh’d and ahh’d and so R. mentioned it to another friend, who wanted to check it out too. This went on for a few weeks, until the sad day that R. brought in a friend to visit “her” ring, only to find it GONE! Yes, there were a few tears.
THE TWIST – R. was one of the lucky ones. Unbeknownst to her, the ring had secretly been purchased by her fiance, (tipped off by friend #2), who held on to it for several more weeks before presenting it to a shocked and delighted, (and tearful), R.
THE MORAL – Come visit our rings as much as you like, but once you know a ring is “the one”, please put a deposit on it! Our vintage rings are one of a kind pieces. Once they go, they are gone, and until we perfect our time machine (we are working on it), we can’t travel back to 1925 to get you another one just like it.
