Client Testimonial

Hi Shan,

I just wanted to thank-you again for the beautiful work you did on my ring. I love it and can’t stop looking at it! When P. and I first started looking for a ring I wasn’t sure if I would find anything that I really liked. But as soon as we came into your store everything just fell into place. First, we didn’t feel uncomfortable as we had in some other stores. The environment you have created is warm and inviting yet also elegant. Then, your easy going and genuine manner helped us relax a bit. It was really a pleasure talking to you and hearing your ideas on things. I didn’t know what I was looking for when we walked in, but when you described what you would do to my great-great aunt’s ring- I knew that was exactly what I wanted. It meant a lot to me to be able to keep the one family ring that I liked, but in a more beautiful form. Our daughter J. is also delighted with it (do you remember you told her you were actually making it for her?) P. just says he’s happy if I’m happy and I am very happy- so there you have it.

We look forward to seeing you again.

Thank you for the vote of confidence, Arlington Heights! 3/16/10

A new client came into the shop today, laden with three generations of family jewelry needing repair work. I asked her how she found Maloy’s. She told me that she had sent out a note to all the people on her neighborhood email list, asking for recommendations on where to get the work done. Evidently, the resounding response from a surprising number of neighbors was “Maloy’s!” Thanks for spreading the word… We appreciate it very much.

A PROPOSAL TALE—-

3/10/10-
R found a particularly good looking novelty box in the shape of a crab, and hatched a proposal plan. The ring was put into the box, and a trip to the coast was scheduled. R got a few paces ahead of his beloved on a beach walk, bent down, and “found” the crab in the sand. He called his sweetheart H over to check out his find, but instead of walking nearer, H saw the wiggling articulated box in R’s hand, and took off screaming in the other direction down the beach.

After much cajoling, H came close and bravely examined the “crab”, which revealed its secret, a beautiful late Victorian ring featuring a particularly vibrant and beautiful sapphire with diamond side detail.

We suspect H and R will live happily ever after.
